virtually lovely

I just wanted to write a little piece about Jess of BamBam creative. I don't have time to write as much as I would like - it's friday and I'm off to see a 6.15 showing of some rom-com or other, but Jess really does deserve a mention. Not only is she endless supportive of other makers me included (what a lovely surprize to find myself featured in felt like friday piece), but she's also very talented in her own right. I'm really smitten with her Babe in the woods necklace (below). She is the nicest person I've virtually met, I highly recommend you meet her virtually to:)
And just as a little after thought I found this great wedding invite, printed on a tea towel in the style of a royal anniversary commemorative item. It's such a good idea I wish I'd thought of it:)

Two months in business

My little business has been open for two months today. To celebrate I’m running a little competition for my facebook followers, become a fan by clicking this link.

Once you join the facebook fan page, all you have to do is write a short comment below the competition post on facebook (you don’t even have to be nice:)

On Wednesday next week (21 April 2010) I’ll use a random number generator to pick a number. Whom ever's post is listed at that number can choose an item from my shop for FREE – post and package will also be free. Happy commenting and good luck. C x

*Remember this competition is only being run on facebook

from petri dish to soap dish!

I now have a big blog backlog, in part dew to the fact the Internet went down over Easter weekend. But I thought I would just put together a quickie to give a shout out to a fellow new etsy maker. Sara has a soap shop called ‘Cleaner Science’ I spotted her shop in about my second week of selling and I just knew she had something special. I love the idea and the wit of washing your hands with a soap that looks exactly like what you’re trying to wash off: bacteria. Beyond the joke I think her soaps are beautiful items and as she says herself ‘how often do you have a soap that’s also I talking point’.

When I stumbled upon ‘Cleaner Science’ we only had a handful of sales between us. In the last four weeks we’ve both done very well and now have sales figures we can be proud of. It’s been great to have someone to speak to (all be it briefly) about highs and lows. It’s nice to know my gut instincts was right and I hope ‘Cleaner Science’ continues to have the success it/she clearly deserves.
